Besides premium hardware, this job is all about developing and maintaining the best software. As a
Software Development Engineer, you are a key hub in the organization, where your work takes place
in a very ambulatory environment. You will learn to control and improve the existing software through
support for multiple, international and reputable customers. In parallel, you will work to build new and
proprietary software.
The key applications revolve around good control of imaging software, including scanning vehicles,
automatic license plate recognition and/or face capture and recognition. The Company also possesses
unique, patented applications for detection of Magnetic Fields and Nuclear Radiation. For larger
projects, you support the building and configuration of central and redundant server(s) and you might
participate in the integration within overarching Security (software) platforms or Security
Management systems at customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Initially you will be trained in our existing technology and business, by “training on the job”;
- You will work closely together with the CEO and Technical Director to discuss technology
developments, ambitions, visions and strategy, and the execution of development programs; - You will execute concrete development projects and make sure that appropriate product and
technical specifications are available; Realizing and implementing key functionality and
features; Establishing realistic estimates for timelines, ensuring that projects remain on target
to meet deadlines; Ensuring that the software will be state-of-the-art, perfectly working and
free of bugs; - You will plan and manage software releases; Develop web APIs and implement web services
Develop automatic OS installation and software update; Develop business logic and computer
vision algorithms; Develop AI based applications; - You will support and execute software installation during our manufacturing process, if
necessary with troubleshooting and debugging; - In due time, you will provide our clients with (on-line) technical support, manage the service
requests through a “ticket” system; - In due time, you will lead the software development team;

- You have experience with, or are willing to develop yourself in: Python standard library: type
annotations, threading, multiprocessing, asyncio, unittest; Linux bootloader, advanced OS
administration, Embedded linux distributive, e.g.: Yocto, Windriver, Docker, Ansible, Python
computer vision libraries: OpenCV, Python data libraries: numpy, pandas, FastAPI or other web
frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask), Protobuf, grpc, SQL databases: SQLite or other, Qt, QML,
PySide6, Any experience in frontend development, C++.
